Introduction
THE BOOKS OF ADAM AND EVE
This is the most ancient story in the world. It is an account of good and evil. The story begins with Adam and Eve after they leave the Garden of Eden and continues until just before the flood.
Adam and Eve need no introduction; They begin family History by being our first parents; After leaving the Garden of Eden, God commands them to dwell in The Cave of Treasures and sends them his Word to give them courage.
Their “Bright nature” is taken away; Night and day created; Their bodies need food and water as digestive organs are given.
They establish the custom of worship; They build the first altar and gird themselves.
5500 years are given until the coming of a savior.
Conflicts with Satan are constant; God tells Adam of the Devil’s purpose.
Many prophecies are given:
The flood; The western lands;
The coming of Christ;
His life and death; The resurrection.
Angels grieve over Adam and curse Satan; Adam changed from life in the garden to misery, from life to death, from peace to trouble and from gladness to a strange land.
The betrothal of Adam and Eve:
They are commanded to fast and to pray 40 days and 40 nights.
They are commanded to have children who would multiply and replenish the face of the earth.
Adam wedded to Eve; Children follow. Cain and Abel have twin Sisters.
Cain slays Abel, peace is shattered, Cain marries his sister; and goes to the plain below the mountain to live. Seth is born; Seth marries Abel’s sister, they multiply and keep Adam’s commandments.
Seth’s children not ever to mix with Cain’s children.
Seth stays on the mountain near the Cave of Treasures with the righteous part of the family, called the “Children of God”.
The righteous children of Seth: Enos, Cainan, Mahalaleel, Lamech and Jared and their families admonished not to leave the mountain.
The children of Jared descend the mountain and are led astray.
Enoch transported by God from that mountain to the land of life.
Methuselah, Lamech and Noah are the only men left on the mountain.
